When Meröe called me about doing a session at a location that is special to her family, my heart warmed. These were going to be their first family photos since Baby S made her debut three months ago.
I live for capturing family moments at special spots! But when she mentioned the Houston Arboretum, my heart soared. This is a special place for my family as well! I took walks in this urban oasis while pregnant with my little, and now I bring her to the naturescape playground to play and to the nature center to learn about our local ecosystem. I know that Meröe brings her older son, R, for similar adventures and looks forward to doing the same with Baby S.
It was a perfect 65 degrees with virtually no mosquitos (almost unheard of in Houston!) and we practically had the park to ourselves. We caught the morning sun as it peeked over the wildflower field next to the turtle pond and found R in a playful mood. The serenity was contagious.
And when the kiddos were ready for a break, Meröe and Jeremy hopped in front of the wildflowers for some gorgeous lovebird shots. What a perfect morning!
